Framing Your Mind for Success

by Tiffany Todd | Jan 24, 2012

The proper frame of mind is necessary to create success in any venture, but especially so for the entrepreneur facing many challenges.   Believing in the success of the venture, maintaining positive and realistic expectations, creating a team atmosphere through release of do-it-all attitudes, and monitoring mind frames are all essential to success.  Establish a proper frame of mind each day before undertaking responsibilities to ensure ventures stay on the success track.

An entrepreneur must believe in the venture being undertaken.  Fully investing in an idea, conceptualizing, and executing are vital to creating an environment that will foster commitment from investors and business partners.  The greater the confidence level of the entrepreneur, the greater the confidence level of those who will become team members in the venture, the greater the environment of support toward success.

While building belief in the success of a venture, it is equally important to maintain positive and realistic expectations.  Outcomes must be managed through consistent monitoring of progress, openness to change, and flexibility.  A willingness to let go of outmoded ideas and incorporate innovative points of view while minimizing risk are key mind-sets for the successful entrepreneur.

No man is an island was never truer than in an entrepreneurial venture.  Building a network of professionals to consult, guide, and provide services are essential to success.  The entrepreneur must develop a team spirit and take on a managerial role, releasing responsibility to those who are best able to service the various aspects of a project.  Success is equally rewarded at the team and individual level in any venture.

Take a few moments each morning to write down your thoughts, and then review them looking for blocks to success.  Bounce ideas around with a trusted colleague to obtain differing or unseen points of view.  Keep a journal of progress to better identify strategies that fail and those that succeed.  Maintaining a mind frame for success will only be achieved through practice.

Here’s to your success!
